Quick answers

Most Common Questions.

Is the solar payment really lower than my utility bill?

For most RI, MA, and CT homeowners, the starting solar payment comes in below their current utility bill. Your final number depends on roof orientation, shading, and household usage. That's why we send a real consultant to verify before you sign anything.

How does the math work over 25 years?

Eversource and Rhode Island Energy supply rates have risen materially over the last decade, with combined residential bills climbing roughly 5–8% per year on average across New England (sources: EIA Form 826, public utility tariff filings). A standard Sunfinity solar agreement carries a small annual escalator (typically 0 to 2.99% per year, contract-dependent), which is generally slower than the utility's long-run climb. Your consultant verifies the exact contract terms and escalator on the call.

Can a new roof be included?

Yes. If your roof needs replacement, we combine the roof and solar under the same agreement so it's one project, one contract, one team. We inspect during the home assessment and tell you straight whether it makes sense.

What states do you serve?

Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Licensed, bonded, and insured in all three.

How long does install take?

Most installs complete in 60–90 days from signed agreement. That includes design, permits, utility approval, the install itself, and inspection. The actual rooftop work is typically 1–3 days on site.

What happens if I need to sell my house?

Solar agreements transfer to the new homeowner with the property. Most homes with solar actually sell faster and at a slight premium. The buyer inherits a lower energy bill. Your consultant walks through the transfer process on the call.

Who is Sunfinity Power?

Sunfinity is an independent, Rhode Island-based solar + roofing company. We install in RI, MA, and CT only. No subcontractors, no call centers. Real local crews from design through install. You can reach our office at (401) 227-3363.

What kind of warranty does Sunfinity offer?

Solar panels typically carry a manufacturer's 25-year performance warranty. Inverters have a 10 to 25 year warranty depending on the unit. Roof work installed by Sunfinity carries our workmanship warranty. Your consultant walks through the exact warranty terms for the specific equipment proposed for your home on the call.

Can I monitor my system after install?

Yes. Every Sunfinity install includes a manufacturer's monitoring app (Enphase, SolarEdge, or similar depending on the inverter). You see daily, monthly, and lifetime production from your phone. Sunfinity's ops team also monitors performance for the first year and reaches out if anything looks off.

What happens if a panel breaks or stops working?

Panel failures are rare under the manufacturer warranty. Modern panels are rated for 25 years and most outlast their warranty period. If something does fail, the manufacturer covers replacement panels and Sunfinity handles the swap. Storm damage falls under your homeowner's insurance; we coordinate the claim with your carrier.

What financing options are available?

Sunfinity works with multiple financing options depending on your situation: solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), solar loans, and cash purchase. If you're bundling a new roof, the roof is financed alongside the solar agreement. Your consultant matches the right financing path to your credit profile and goals on the call.

What makes Sunfinity different from a national solar company?

Three things. First, we're independent and based in Rhode Island. Your install crew, your consultant, and our office are all in New England. Second, no subcontractors and no call-center sales. The person you speak with works directly for Sunfinity. Third, we install solar AND roofing under one team, so a roof + solar bundle is one project, one contract, one warranty conversation.

What if I don't save as much as the calculator says?

The calculator on this page uses your bill plus state-average rates and Google Solar API data for your roof to produce an estimate. Your consultant verifies the exact numbers against your actual roof orientation, shading, and household usage on the call. Before you sign anything. If the verified numbers are materially different, you walk away. No obligation either way.
